Positive creative visual / sensory approach to the behavioral challenges of Dementia

Sue O'Donnell, B.S. PACC
Creative Director
Clients have often referred to me as their semiprofessional surrogate daughter or sister. I simply enjoy helping people.
SparkingJoy.org serves as a creative resource helping persons with dementia connect with the people in their lives. Strategizing with care partners to improve moment to moment quality of life. By tapping in to your loved one's life experiences, we create a custom "thrive plan" of engaging activities resulting in positive sensory enrichment.

"We are committed to bettering the lives of persons with dementia by equipping family care partners and professional caregivers with custom sensory and visual cues tied to his/her life story.

As part of our respite 1 on 1 visits, we provide guidance, develop and craft visual and sensory tools to address specific behavioral challenges. For example, we turn meaningful memories / photos into oversized custom canvas visual cues that result in positive experiences.
These custom tools evoke positive emotion and serve as redirect tool. Our censory trays are extremely effective. Call us to schedule a complimentary meet and greet.
SparkingJoy.org team is excited to report that we are in the process of applying for non-profit status. Soon with the help of community donations, we will be able to expand services to more families. Stay tuned.
